Me and The Kid learned this song when we were teenagers, from Iowa music legend & state gemstone Dennis McMurrin; he had his own brush with L.A. before we were born. He used to cover this song between telling stories about backing up strippers in the seventies, which really captured our collective imagination at a crucial juncture in our lives. One of the top songs about the myth of a geographical cure for loneliness.
